It looks like Trump may be also winning another 50 delegates from South Carolina in the spring if he continues to win!
“Each congressional district delegate … shall be bound during the first ballot at the convention to the presidential candidate who received the greatest number of votes …. If the candidate who received the greatest number of votes in that particular delegate’s home district is not placed in nomination, a delegate must then be bound to the congressional district’s second or third place finisher in the presidential preference primary, respectively. If none of the top three finishers in the congressional district presidential preference primary are placed in nomination, delegates shall be unbound.
Each delegate-at-large shall be bound for the first ballot to the candidate who received the largest number of votes statewide in the presidential preference primary. If the candidate who receives the greatest number of statewide votes in the presidential preference primary is not placed in nomination, a delegate must then be bound to the state’s second or third place finisher in the presidential preference primary, respectively. If none of the top three finishers in the statewide presidential preference primary are placed in nomination, delegates shall be unbound. [South Carolina Republican Party Rules – Rule 11(b)(4), (5)]”
March 2016: The County Conventions convene to elect delegates to the District and State Conventions [South Carolina Code of Laws – Section 7-9-70] [South Carolina Republican Party Rules – Rule 5 (c)(5)]

It sure would be nice if the media would explain these things to the public. So far…I haven’t heard a word on any of this? Has anyone else?

This is a year that the people are learning just what goes on state by state. If it sounds confusing….it’s because most have never heard of or known just how this election process actually plays out state by state. Now that Trump won all districts in South Carolina…what will this mean if he continues to win the majority of states? Stay tuned this is one interesting election!
Who knew we would all have to know and understand what all the states do to choose a candidate in order to understand why this or that happens later?

There are ONLY 50 delegates from So. Carolina. This article is misleading if you think an additional 50 will have been elected in the spring. Those are the SAME ones won in the primary and are just being designated, confirmed and credentialed for the convention. I am a detailed reader of the GreenPapers. Feel free to contact me if need assistance in understanding the state rules.
I believe he will win Texas & Florida. There are too many cowboys in Texas that thinks the same way Trump does & Florida doesn’t like Bush or Rubio. Also, they have the experience of all the aliens coming into their states.
According to a chart at https://ballotpedia.org/2016_presidential_nominations:_calendar_and_delegate_rules#Nomination_calendar_and_delegate_counts Texas has 155 delegates (108 district delegates, 44 at-large delegates, 3 RNC delegates) that are awarded as follows “Proportional, 20% threshold–If a candidate wins more than 50% of the statewide vote, he or she is awarded all of the state’s at-large delegates. If a candidate wins more than 50% of the vote in a district, he or she is awarded all of the district’s delegates.” and Florida has 99 delegates (81 district delegates, 15 at-large delegates, 3 RNC delegates) that are awarded as follows “Winner-take-all–At-large and district delegates are both allocated based on the statewide vote.”
According to http://redstatewatcher.com/article.asp?id=7696 , it also seems that “Donald Trump officially received all 50 South Carolina delegates” ; at this point, I think the ‘expert’ who was interviewed got it wrong (as indicated in the chart at http://www.thegreenpapers.com/P16/R-Alloc.phtml ). By the way, this ‘expert’ was apparently wearing a Marco Rubio shirt. If Trump wouldn’t take the nomination on the first vote could you imagine having to depend on her? It’s key to avoid a brokered convention …
