As you know I have never used my personal Facebook for my views on the current mandate situation before.
“However, if you have any respect for me, any feelings at all I have one request. PLEASE, PLEASE view this video in its entirety. This is not an isolated rally – going on in nearly every city in Canada and throughout the world. It shows what is being called a ragtag crowd of misogynists, racists, terrorists.
“Contrary to what you are being told – this movement includes Canadians from all political parties, vaccinated and unvaccinated. This is not about that issue – it is about the division, separation and loss of quality of life for so many Canadian families due to unproved so-called scientific restrictions put on the Canadian Citizen who doesn’t blindly follow the political party line.
“The go fund me page has broken the 4,000,000 dollar mark in under ten days. (It’s now at $6,378,360) Many of those contributions are five, ten, twenty dollars from families whose household incomes have been totally gutted – contributions are coming in from Germany, France, Australia, Mexico, Ireland and even Cuban Americans. So many contributions from Quebec. I have never seen Quebec and the rest of Canada so united and that brings joy to my heart. Most of these countries have already abandoned lockdowns, segregation papers and travel restrictions…. Over 50,000 separate contributions have been recorded. (it’s now 82K) All monies going directly to the company responsible for providing fuel…..
“The reason I am writing this today is to alert you that this upcoming weekend could really have an impact on your activities if you are not aware.
“The truckers rally is expected to be huge…. Over 1,000 trucks are on their way up from Georgia, North and South Carolina as we speak. The convoy has left from the west coast and is experiencing huge support at every overpass. Please make yourself aware. The objective is to peacefully protest the mandates and restrictions and to unite – not divide………
“They have stated that they will remain in Ottawa until all mandates and restrictions are lifted.
“If you had no idea about this then please ask yourself why a free and unbiased press would not be reporting. Why it is not on television…….Today is the first day this is being reported. Last weekend there was a world protest in nearly every country in the world with millions of participants – that didn’t even make our newspapers or television.
“Everyone has the right to disagree with this post and I fully respect that – but at least be aware of what is happening – PLEASE. Sent with all my love, respect and hope for all those whose lives have been devastated over the past year.“

My dearest dad, R.I.P. So many thoughts, emotions and memories are with you this week as I watch this trucker convoy underway. Your years of service behind the wheel of your big red Kenworth were greatly appreciated by your family of eleven children. You worked tirelessly, drove thousands of miles, alone in that cab, except for the radio contact with other truckers. I always wondered how you could do that….but I learned soon enough, you did it out of love for your family….just like all these heroic truckers today are probably doing it.
As I think of the sacrifices of these 50,000 truckers headed to stand up for freedom, I have no doubt, beloved dad (Harvey), that you would be among them. You would be right there in the mix, promoting their unity and getting the other truckers all fired up. In fact, with your fiesty spirit, you’d probably be raising a little hell and your fellow truckers would need to come alongside of you to remind you that it’s a “peaceful” protest…so, take a breath. 😉🚛
As all these 50,000+ truckers come together this weekend and hold their position, my thoughts will be on you, dear ole dad. I know without a doubt that you would be very proud of your fellow truckers, and so I raise a glass to all those hard working, freedom loving truckers, in honor and memory of you, my beloved truck driving Father. 😇💖🙏🤗🍻

My daddy and his family along with my mom’s family would be right there as well. They were truckers, worked road construction and worked for over the road truckers carrying supplies to stores . . .Trucks and heavy equipment is in our blood.
Dad always said that people need to stand together to make a difference and that is exactly what they are doing now. Standing up for freedom that our families fought for and even died for. Every time a truck passes us on the road, we always flash our lights to them letting them know it is safe to pull back into our lane. Many of them will flash their lights back at us in thanks.
Along with you Deborah J. Balk, I raise my glass to all the fellow truckers as well in honor and memory of my dad.
I miss traveling with him as he hauled gravel, but they are memories I cherish.

Deborah, I was thinking the exact same thing as I was writing my post. In spirit, I know they are a part of that great convoy and are cheering us on to victory. They are praying for us to succeed. With God’s help, all things are possible. My parents loved the C.W. McCall’s song Convoy, and I am sure they would have loved this new version of Convoy as well. Back then, there were no cell phones, but all our vehicles and trucks had CB radios. Thank you, Deborah, for your words. Here’s to our dads. 👼🚚 🚛🍷
