There are Biblical clues to all of this.
According to Eastern Orthodox traditions, (which there are many versions of) according to the Commentary on the Apocalypse of Andreas of Caesarea, it is believed that Saint Antipas was the Antipas referred to in the Book of Revelation 2:13, as the verse says: “I know thy works, and where thou dwellest, even where Satan’s seat is: and thou holdest fast my name, and hast not denied my faith, even in those days wherein Antipas was my faithful martyr, who was slain among you, where Satan dwelleth.”
According to Christian tradition, John the Apostle ordained Antipas as bishop of Pergamon during the reign of the Roman emperor Nero. The traditional account goes on to say Antipas was martyred during the reign of Nero (54-68), by burning in a brazen bull-shaped altar at the Apollyon temple in Lyon/ Geneva Switzerland. The method of execution suffered by Antipas and many others was that they would take the victim and place him inside the bull, and they would tie him in such a way that his head would go into the head of the bull. Then they would light a huge fire under the bull, and as the fire heated the bronze, the person inside of the bull would slowly begin to roast to death. As the victim, would begin to moan and to cry out in pain …his cries would echo through the pipes in the head of the bull, so it seemed to make the bull come alive with snorting and roaring sounds. Even in the midst of the flames, the elderly bishop Antipas died praying for his church.
The exact date of this execution is questionable. As the Roman Catholic Eastern Orthodox Church itself has two possible dates for the death of Antipas. One is during the time of Nero between AD 54 and AD 68 and the other is the year AD 92. (Other commentaries have other dates such as AD 39.) When the Apostle John wrote the Book of Revelation, he mentioned the death of Antipas in Pergamum. To the angel of the church in Pergamum write; “I know your works, and where you dwell… where Satan’s throne is. And you hold fast to my name, and did not deny my faith even in the days in which Antipas was my faithful martyr, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells,” Revelation 2:12.
Today, the Altar of Zeus is in Germany.
In the 19th century, German engineers dismantled the altar stone by stone and took it to Berlin. The so-called “Throne of Satan” went on display in the city’s Pergamum Museum in 1930, just in time to inspire one of the most brutal dictators the world has ever seen, Hitler! How curious is it that the Altar of Pergamum was dismantled by the Germans and rebuilt in Germany in the 1930’s …just prior to the rise of the Hitler Nazi Regime and WW2!

Mis and disinformation has scrambled up history and A.I. fact checkers have been busy regoogle-ing everything. Even confusing Herod Antipas the hater of Jesus as Antipas the faithful martyre of Jesus whom John ordained as the Bishop of Pergamon to teach the ways and truth of Jesus.
What has been hidden or forbidden… whatever reason it is … it is most agreed upon that Antipas was to minister to the people of Pergamum, who was likely ordained by the apostle John. In Revelation 2:13, Antipas was called a “faithful witness” (martyr) during a time of Christian persecution in Pergamum. The historic trail leads us to the death of Antipas martyred in Pergamum’s amphitheater.

The Greek name, meaning “Destroyer,” given in Revelation 9:11 for “the angel of the bottomless pit” (in Hebrew called Abaddon), also identified as the king of the demonic “locusts” described in Revelation 9:3-10…In one manuscript, instead of Apollyon the text reads “Apollo,” the Greek god of death and pestilence as well as of the sun, music, poetry, crops and herds, and medicine. Apollyon is no doubt the correct reading. The ones tampering with nature and blocking the sun’s light, even going as far as removing incandescent light bulbs are destroying God’s life-giving source – or so it appears they are trying. No living cells can multiply and divide without the light emitting diodes from the full spectrum of the sun. Not even bacteria. Many are blind to this. A.I. can be both good and evil. I had to stop reading when you falsely claimed that the book of Revelation was written post 90 AD. It’s sad and frustrating how many ignorant Christians could take that illogical position. There is zero textual evidence for such an assertion and common sense does not support it. Only those who insert their own suppositions to make the text fit their own futuristic beliefs hold to such nonsense. A simple and plain reading of the scripture shows clearly that ALL these things will be upon THAT generation, that those WHO pierced Him will see Him coming in judgement. As for the part you read and stopped reading, it clearly stated I was quoting what the Eastern Orthodox Church (Roman Catholic) had given it that date. Had you read further you would have seen several other dates for the same event and a statement, “But the liars are relentless and keep trying to rewrite and or erase history and truth!” Along with the photo of what was removed or scrubbed off the internet showing the date of martyrdom was AD 39. Instead of just listing the different dates of which the conclusion was to show how things have been altered and hidden, I rephrased the sentence to read, “As the Roman Catholic Eastern Orthodox Church itself has two multiple possible dates for the death of Antipas. One is during the time of Nero between AD 54 and AD 68 and the other is the year AD 92. (Other commentaries have other dates such as AD 39.) That being said, whatever year it was, the one thing we know for sure is that it was at Pergamum.” The rest is the same. I believe those two sentences give the nature of the message more clearly. For what it’s worth, I go with the Foxe book of Martyrs on the dates of John as he was banished to the Isle of Patmos under the rule of Domitian who reigned from AD 81 to AD 96. So it was somewhere in that time span that he wrote the book of Revelation. Nerva, the successor of Domitian, set John free. He was the only apostle who escaped a violent death. Nerva was Caesar from AD96 to AD 98.
Foxe Book of Martyrs states: “The churches of Smyrna, Pergamos, Sardis, Philadelphia, Laodicea, and Thyatira, were founded by John. From Ephesus he was ordered to be sent to Rome, where it is affirmed he was cast into a cauldron of boiling oil. He escaped by miracle, without injury. Domitian afterwards banished him to the Isle of Patmos, where he wrote the Book of Revelation.”
