I once suggested to a very well known recording industry engineer I was working with, if there could be a “STYX and Stones” concert. I thought the obvious colloquial, that I was sure was not original, but worth the inquiry, I would get a cheerful reasonable answer. His eyes and lifted voice didn’t even need words!! So much easier to find those with the money machine behind the music. Again, the head is hung.
The Lord lifts that head and encourages in the intimate moments of His musician and Himself. Lord you asked me to make music for You – and perform it for You among Your people. Blessings in obedience, yet even more when the Holy Spirit is present as He brings forth music from His musicians to the hearts, minds, and spirits of those he calls His Church; His Bride. As Nehemiah went to rebuild where were the Lord’s musicians found? Why? Whilst we are carefully filtering for truth in other areas, it would be a blessing to be accountable to such a profound gift as music in a pro active way, allowing the proliferation of those sonically grounded in the Lord a way to bless in abundance in His intended first place. I have been silent in this too long, so as we raise the cry to Christ, and our New Song, we pray wisdom and prudence.
